Book Talk: The Third Eye by David Goldstein_The BookWalker

Throughout the Bible, it is clear that children are gifts and blessings in the eyes of God. Children's spirits are full of innocence and joy. Jesus actually tells us to be like children and come to him with child-like faith and trust.

The Bible tells us that all of God's children are precious in his sight. The words of the Bible are a gift from God to all his children, and it is often the parents and caregivers who become vessels of this gift. However, reading the Bible to little children can be daunting for many parents and caregivers. How can adults impart God's word in a way that is engaging and memorable for children?

Milagros Flores Santana's A Little Child Shall Lead Them, brings God's word to children in a creative way — through poetry! This book brings Bible stories to life through engaging illustrations and easy-to-read rhymes that children can listen to or read along.

Poetry is an effective method that sparks the imagination and taps into the creativity of little children. It is also an easy way to help the little ones remember stories and valuable lessons from the Bible.

What can the little ones learn from the word of God? The answer is, a lot! The capacity to learn and understand is often more than we expect. And, the impact of being raised in God's word from a young age is best summarized in 2 Timothy 3:14-15, "But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."

A Little Child Shall Lead Them is an invitation to parents, teachers, and caregivers to impart God's word into the lives of little children in a way that they will readily understand, remember, and enjoy.

From the author

" I have always wanted to write a book for very young readers. I composed several books but soon realized that other authors have already written similar books. I ached for something fresh and engrossing. The inspiration for A Little Child Shall Lead Them came from me peering into a law office and spotting a stuffed Mother Goose toy on a desk. I remembered looking at it and singing to myself a couple of nursery rhymes I had learned as a young child. These nursery rhymes were fun and helped me fall asleep soundly. Best of all these lullabies fueled my creative imagination. I suddenly realized that I could write Bible poems for young children that would be both interesting and enjoyable. "
