An enlightening quest to change the world by first changing the self.
Life is a series of changes one after the other, but we who believe ourselves to be the masters of our fate have not learned to channel this constant toward something useful for all of us, not just a select few. Hence, there is a persistent clamor for progress wherever we go, but how can we affect change for the benefit of every single person? The answer lies within ourselves.
This might surprise many people, especially those who feel exploited by their circumstances, but there is little that outside forces can do for us if we do not start changing from the inside. The only way to make change last is through an inside-out approach—meaning, we address the person first, not the issues surrounding him or her. We address ourselves—thoughts, fears, goals, faith. We use these energies to propel us where we want to go.
Sophia Lovgren’s enlightening book, Spiritual Social Activism: Change the World from Inside and Out with Spiritual Principles, comes to us like a ray of light, a beacon of hope, that all is not lost in the world.
Lovgren introduces us to new principles, practices, and methods to transform us into spiritual, social activists. She merges science and spirituality to create a holistic approach and combines new findings in quantum physics and neuroscience. The author’s goal is, first and foremost, to help us understand our nature—that we are energies waiting to transform into other forms of energy through the constant cycle of change. Once we understand our nature and the inherent power in us to be the energy we desire, we can then make necessary adjustments. With our participation, we become genuinely engage in the creation of progress, not mere bystanders waiting for other people to make the changes on our behalf.
It is important to note at this point that social activism is not about opposition to other energies in society. Anybody can be a social activist through positive and legal approaches.
Truly, hope springs eternal, and Sophia Lovgren shows us we are the eternal hope we crave.
