Book Talk: Esoteric Christianity Made Simple by Con Trong Bui
The spiritual-related book Esoteric Christianity Made Simple, written by Con Trong Bui, delves into various insights that are not common knowledge for most Christians. In fact, many open-minded readers of religious publications might discover this excellent material to be entirely different from how they perceive one of the largest religious groups in the world. Thankfully, you do not have to struggle digesting the texts as the author inserted sufficient clarifications for you to better grasp these concepts.
Are there certain aspects inside the Holy Bible that were overlooked by millions of Christian followers? What do you believe might happen if various traditional forms of knowledge, which have been comfortably embedded in our minds for centuries, were found out to be inaccurate in the first place? How do facts, fantasies, and falsities play a significant role in the way Christians remain faithful to the Almighty?
The author continually provides profound explanations on various issues to clear things up on numerous misconceptions on Christianity, supported through loads of scriptures straight from the Bible to supply the justifications on his discussions.
One of the topics is about the concept of reincarnation. Perhaps, not many people, regardless of religious affiliation, are believers in this specific aspect. What would be the real score between a soul and a physical body? Is the widely-accepted theory an accurate definition?
Even though the Bible has been around for centuries, many individuals still have mixed beliefs regarding its contents' messages. Some quarters believe that the Biblical scriptures should be interpreted literally. It means that regardless of the passage of time, all detailed aspects that were written should be taken in their pure context. Meanwhile, certain religious groups—such as the Roman Catholics—feel that the scriptures contain loads of signs and symbols meant to impart a different way of seeing things beyond their literal form. Some or most can be made adaptable to the present times.
This book also touches on the history of the spiritual journey. Still, before zooming into that portion, the author provides the reader an overview of the so-called spiritual human beings and follows it up with various religious know-how to guide readers who are not well-versed with Biblical scriptures.
This is an intensely researched work, and the tone remains unassuming all throughout. Prepare to open your eyes towards new knowledge on spirituality.
Reviews and What Readers Say
" Interesting view. This book analyzes and cites scriptures while questioning some of people's thoughts behind them. For instance, why is it hard to believe that God could resurrect Jesus if you believe that God created humans from dust? If that question intrigues you, then this book is for you."

" Ultimately, this book is what it is. Esoteric? Yes. Made simple? At times. I both enjoyed it and didn't really enjoy it. It was a bit of a slog to get through, but I did find it enlightening and interesting to read when it focused on summarizing and bringing thoughts together. Will it "keep me from evil and at the same time accomplishing the wills of the most high God"? Maybe, but ultimately it's all up to interpretation, right?"

" As a non-Christian, I started reading this book out of pure curiosity and guess what! The author grabbed all of my attention. The contents are so clear and elaborative, to a level that any beginner can understand such a deep content. I really loved the logical approach and the flow of the book, which helps the reader to see beyond the limits of mere faith and, I believe this should be the way we look at all religions. At a point the author says “Does faith enable human beings to do moral as well as immoral things, good as well as evil things, and still be immune from the sins they commit?”, and this is a question I have been having in my mind too, towards many of the religious beliefs that we see around us in today’s context.
“Esoteric Christianity made simple” by Con Trong Bui is not a simple book as the title says but, it is undoubtedly a deep yet clear review on popular scriptures in the Bible. One could really use this to have a fresh and analytical perspective over customary Christian philosophy. I admire the author’s knowledge of the subject matter and also the understanding that he has on the other religious concepts as well. In some sections, I felt a bit of a repetitive nature; however, conclusively, it was a thought-provoking read."
