About The Author
Over thirty-five years, William Turner practiced as a trial lawyer with the prominent Kansas City Law Firm Gage & Tucker (now known as Lathrop & Gage). He held the esteemed position of Director of the Trial Department. Throughout his legal career, he actively shared his expertise as a lecturer across the United States, covering a range of subjects, including trial techniques, time management, and the intersection of law and medicine. His insights also found their way into various hospital, medical, and legal journals through articles like “The Legal Pitfalls of Nursing” and “Time Management for Lawyers.”
Mr. Turner’s contributions extended to the realm of academia as well. He co-authored the chapter titled “Legal Issues in Family Medicine” in the book “Family Medicine: Principles and Practice, 2nd edition,” edited by Robert B. Taylor and published by Springer-Verlag, New York. He also held a role as an adjunct professor at the University of Kansas Department of Hospital Administration.
Retiring in 1995 marked a turning point for William. His creative spirit took center stage as he penned his inaugural work of fiction, “A Christmas Friend,” written between 1997 and 1998. Presently, he is engrossed in crafting a full-length novel that delves into the landscapes of Crawford County, Kansas, the Yukon, and two captivating Italian locales. Beyond this, the author has exciting plans for another children’s book featuring an eccentric goat endowed with magical powers.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Born in Arcadia, Kansas, William Turner’s academic journey began after his graduation from Arcadia High School in 1948. He embarked on his educational pursuits at the University of Kansas, where he earned a B.A. in Business Administration and a J.D. from the School of Law. His dedication led him to serve in the United States Air Force, including a year stationed in Korea during the Korean conflict.
