About The Author
Currently serving as the Director of Library Operations at Magale Library on the Centenary College of Louisiana campus, Christy brings over 50 years of rich experience to her role. Her extensive career has seen her involvement in various facets of librarianship, including interlibrary loan services, The Times Newspaper Library, and establishing church libraries. Her passion for the academic library landscape led her to co-author a notable article on Academic Integrity and Information Literacy, featured in the e-journal CODEX. Additionally, Christy has contributed numerous book reviews on Louisiana authors to the Louisiana Library Association’s Louisiana Libraries Bulletin.
Beyond her illustrious library career, Christy has ventured into the world of illustration and writing, inspired by her newfound love for drawing. She is the creative force behind “The Rylan Series,” a collection of children’s books featuring titles such as “Rylan and Burt” (2014), “Rylan and Henry” (2015), and “Moving Again!!! with Rylan and Henry” (2018), as well as “Emma’s Funny Birds” (2016). Currently in production, the fifth installment, “Olivia Claire Leona and Red Ball,” promises to continue the delightful journey of friendship in The Rylan Series.
Celebrating 50 years of marriage to a retired Radio Announcer, Christy finds inspiration in her two children and four grandchildren, who are the driving force behind her literary creations. Having embraced Christianity at the age of 13, she has cultivated a diverse range of interests, including running, gardening, reading, photography, drawing, painting, and exploring new book ideas. An avid advocate for the library field, Christy, along with her husband, shares their home with Boz, a 70-pound black/blue boxer-pit-lab dog. Keep an eye out for her upcoming work, “Boz the Rescue Dog.”
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Christy Jordan Wrenn, a Minden, Louisiana native, is a seasoned librarian and accomplished author. She holds a degree from Louisiana Tech University and earned her Master’s in Library Science (M.L.S) from Louisiana State University-Baton Rouge. Her academic journey also includes studies at Centenary College of Louisiana, where she delved into Information Systems Technologies at LSU-Shreveport.
